Paul Chafe is a writer,
soldier and scholar who divides his time
between Halifax, Nova Scotia and Toronto,
Ontario. His first short story, Prisoner
of War was bought by Larry Niven for
the Man-Kzin Wars series, and he has been
a regular contributor to the series ever
since. His own work includes the novel
Mission Critical and short
stories in Toni Weisskopf's critically
acclaimed Adventures in...
anthologies.

As
a soldier, Paul joined the
infantry reserves as a private soldier
in 1984 and earned his commission in
1993. He has served with four regiments,
and is currently with the 1st Battalion
of the Nova Scotia Highlanders (North).
As a scholar he studies
computer vision systems and related
subjects at Dalhousie University in
Halifax. His independant image analysis
of Kirtland AFB's imagery of the shuttle
Columbia made him one of the
first people to know what brought the
orbiter down.
He is the proud father of Christian, who is 12.
